    Angry Child in Car

The other day, a woman comes home with her 5 kids. only problem is that 4 of them come out of the car. Mom thought her 10 year old was getting the 7 month old. Sadly, that didn't happen and the baby died. Here is the link. http://www.azcentral.com/12news/news...eath12-CP.html

I ask you people, what should happen to her and also what should be done with the kids? I know what I think, how about y'all.
My wife left me alone with a case of Corona, a bag of limes and the cat. Beer is gone. What will I do with the extra limes and the cat?

If I have a chance to be a judge, I would just charge her for criminal negligence, 2nd degree murder, and child endangerment, then sentence her to life in prison without a chance of parole. I know I may sound harsh but her playing with computer while baby slowly died in the van is stupid, just plain stupid. As for children, I would have them place in a foster home until they all be 18. Unless if they have relatives they can live with. I'm sorry for the 7-month old baby. The law should post more severe sentences on parents who leave babies and children in the cars. Cars are not designed to sleep in or nap area. They're dangerous vehicle because of metal which absorbs heat quickly.

Here in CA, I still get pissed off because some of stupid parents will leave the baby for a few seconds or minutes while they went into school or store. They are plain stupid as I can ever imagine. My mom never leave me in my car, so I will never leave my kids unattended in my cars..not for a second. Too bad, her home is in media, that will bring shame to her families. That's her problem. She's not supposed to rely on her oldest child to take charge of young siblings. That's stupid. Plain stupid. Jeez. 10 years old is incapable of taking care of children.

This is definitely one of those times that I'm glad that I enforce the law - and don't have to sit in judgement. The death of a child is devastating in and of itself.

I responded to an incident not to long ago where a child had been run over - while the mother was backing out of the driveway. The mother believed the child (4 years of age) was in the house still with his father as she had left him with him only moments before. She did not see her son behind the van prior to backing out. The boys death was a horrible tragedy. The mother, who I had known to be a very stable person prior to this incident, lost it and is now in a mental health facility. The father and two children left behind, are noticeably struggling to come to terms with both the loss of their son/brother and their wife/mother. The incident was ruled accidental but there is no doubt in my mind that it will be a long time comming, if ever, that the parents of that little boy will ever stop punishing themselves.

If a child is left purposely in a car for even a couple of minutes, my opinion is to charge the driver/person with child neglect.

With all the new "gadgets" out on the market today - you would think that some company or inventor could come up with an audible indicator to alert the driver that not everyone who entered the vehicle has exited.

There also ought to be an indicator that a previously-snapped seatbelt is not longer activated.

We have had a couple of incidents in TN where children were left behind in Daycare vans. One of them died as well. I believe the daycare employee has been charged. I have seen on TV (Can't remember which manufacturer) some new vehicles and/or devices that have light/laser beams running from one side of the vehicle to the other and will go off if the vehicle has been turned off and the line is broken (inside the passenger compartment).

I guess just the same with the BMW's and Volvo's with the motion sensor behind the vehicle to detect someone behind it. Hopefully all vehicle companies will have these soon. ;)

Can we have the woman sit out in a hot car for a few hours? That'd be the punishment I'd give, but the bleeding hearts would cry that it was inhumane. Well, it's inhumane to leave a defenseless 7 month old in the car & let him die. Besides, you can't count on a 10 year old to handle YOUR responsibilities. Stupid b*tch.

This happens several times a year in Texas. I seldom see the person prosecuted. :(

I agree with LR.How do ya give a 10 year old that kind of responsibility and not follow up on it. She needs to go away for a good long stretch.

Thats a clear cut charge for Child Neglect and Neglegent Homicide.....

I see a lot of parents prosecuted in my area for leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle on hot summer days with the windows rolled up. Capac (AKA Cow And Pigs And Chickens) had a 5 year old die 2 years ago when mommy left the kid in the car for 1 hour while in a restraunt having lunch. The kid died and she about got linched when the people saw the dead child in the car. One farmer (local guy) smashed out the window, pulled out the kid and tried to revive her but to no avail. The mob of people (obly about 10-15) went inside and found out who the woman was and said you killed your kid she is dead. The woman said no she aint, it aint that hot out. The mob started to put a whoopin on her when the police showed up and arrested her. The police refused to arrest the mob for beating on her (dont blame them) and the prosecutor refused to prosecute the mob for battery and puiblic nusince (don't blame them either). She told the judge of the beating and so did her lawyer and the judge told her I would have beaten you to. She was convicted and is serving 35 to life in prison for child neglect and neglegent homicide.

These ppl amaze me. They act shocked & horrified that their child died when honestly, they weren't thinking about the kid. They were & are only thinking about themself.

Man, if I got so non-chalant about my childs safety and he died because I had my head in rectal defilade, well, I guess I would deserve about the worst they could give me.

Do you think that child did not cry and want to be taken out of that painful situation? Maybe it could not call mom's name but it's seven month mind still could draw a correlation with mom and safety and mom failed miserably.

Yup, mom shouldn't be allowed to kill her other 4 kids. Take them away & throw her in jail.
