Unhappy would you please help me?

Sorry my mother tongue is not english, I come from china. ^^ please forgive me if there are many faults in my writting.

My one friend(a former cop) told me there was something that the U.S. police use to carry with them but very lethal when used, so the police stopped using it because a lot of civilians (criminals) started to use them -- and took them off the market. That contraption is very simple but can kill someone if it's done right the first time around. My friend also said this contraption maybe the simplest thing in the world, and even he could make it by himself.

He asked me to guess what the contraption is, I have thought over it for almost 2 weeks, and searched on net everyday, but I still can not figure out what it is. so,would you real cops can help me to know its name,or how it works? I promis I will never use it to do illegal things, I just don't want to loss.....

    Thanks very much~~ //bow

???I'm sure there are many items used by police that could easily kill someone if misused.

You are being very general, please try to be more specific.

To greenlead: Sorry if I'm too general, but my friend just gave me these clues......so,it's really too difficult to someone don't know anything about U.S. police equipments like me. >_<
don't know if it's a clue too. That contraption, can be hide in a metal briefcase, this briefcse is a little larger and more heavier than usual one. There are only some papers, four pens in a leather bag in the briefcase, and the briefcase has no interlayer.
My friend challenged me to guess what the murder tool is in this briefcase and I can not do it at all. XD
hm, I think the key clue is: the police used to use something but now they don't use it,and forbid it to be sold.

To dep214: my that friend is a former U.S cop, the "contraption" is he said to me,then I learned it. ^^

To darrell: Thank you for your encouragement to my english.

anyway, thanks youall to replay this thread, //bow again~

if you're good enough, you could use the briefcase itself...but I'd say the guns and knives and clubs we carry are pretty deadly.

I think someone is pulling your leg. Unless he's talking about an attorney who's representing your soon to be ex-wife in the divorce proceedings, and is using a metal briefcase with four pens in a leather bag? That can be deadly!

Im probably way out but we used to be able to buy these things that were the same size as pens and could also be used as pens but they had about five or six ridges around the middle for extra grip and there main use was as a martial arts weapon, this was about 12 years ago and now they are banned.
Im only guessing as it could easily fit in a briefcase, I think they were called a kubatan or something similar.

Kubotan is the english spelling of a japanese word.

I agree that we need more information. There are many everyday items that can be used as tools/weapons of necessity.

"anotsu" seemed japanese to me, I just thought it was interesting that you chose to use a japanese term instead of a chinese term

your friend wasn't talking about a "BRICK" was he? lol

I suspect he is referring to " nunchuks" sp? , the two pieces of wood or metal joined by a length of chain in the middle.
