my department really gets along with our FD. they're really good guys. they help us and we help them. i think it's important for the emergency services to be able to work together without any tension between the two. i was a volunteer ff for 6 years and a first responder for a county ambulance for 7. our FD guys know that and love it when i can help them out. a few weeks ago they had an apartment fire. only 2 guys were able to respond until mutual aid came because the others were all tied up on other calls. i hung out in the smoke to get them equipment, help them get suited up, get power shut off, etc. while they were getting ready, i was pulling hose for them.

when those precious seconds count, you should really be able to work together. there's no reason the police and fire can't be on the same team.
i had to single you out here, I wish there wre more people like you, thank you very much for you devotion to the cause of the people. If you lived in my area i would have a medal pinned on your shirt. Thanks again.

hardly deserving of a medal, but thanks. people don't pay us to hash out our personal biases at work. they pay us to protect and serve whether we like our colleagues or not. fortunately, i like my FD colleagues and think very highly of them. besides, if i ever got hurt, it's their siren i would want to hear most.

Although I don't know anything about the situation you mentioned, there are times when a person is made a scapegoat and fired unjustly. When things like that happen, a person's credibility takes a nose-dive and it means they have to work that much harder to maintain their reputation and prove everyone wrong.

 he wasn't a scapegoat. i honestly don't think he should be a security guard at mcdonald's. the guy had the job handed to him and he completely f'ed it up. banging high school girls doesn't help your reputation either; and that's not even what he was fired for. i read that book almost 20 years ago. it should have went in the burn pile.

As I said previously, I don't know anything about that particular situation you mentioned. Sounds like the guy is a total whack job. Some of the things you said in your post got me thinking. I just making reference to someone I know personally that was fired unjustly. All too many times, people jump to conclusions without getting facts first.
