I think this is a silly post and a shameless plug. I have never seen anyone write that on their report.
EDIT- Discussion had with thread creator...I am going to re-open the thread.

Made In Canada
I'm digging my way to something better
I would first like to extend my appreciation to Metallicat for responding so quickly to my PM.
As I stated in my PM, every part of the country bears nuances specific to a given geographical location in that not every law enforcement agency does things the exact same way. This isn't to say that any one way is better or worse; indeed, certain procedures develop in accordance with remaining somewhat reflective of the populace being protected by a given agency.
I worked as an academy tactical officer to new recruits and as training officer for several years, and it was during this time that I did encounter certain verbiage on reports that got kicked back for correction. (Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary contains two definitions of "cuff" to include as follows: "1. to strike with open hand; beat 2. a blow with the fist or open hand...")
I attempted to gest about the book plug, and it is now my intention to offer my apologies to anyone who may have viewed my attempt at humor as "shameless" or offensive.
This forum is partly frequented, so far as I can tell, by prospective law enforcement personnel, and I only sought to offer a helpful suggestion in the hopes of helping with the transition from civilian to law enforcement duties.
In the future, I shall make every effort to consider how I state my views and opinions so as one may take such efforts as intended--with sincerity.
By and through the course of Military Police, civilian law enforcement, and making a reasonably high number of private citizen arrests of wanted felony bail fugitives, it is my belief that I do have something to offer in terms of helpful training ideas, tactics, officer safety, use of force guidelines, verbal judo, and etceteras.
I look forward to participating on this web site.

For productive debate to be productive then each party is best served by submitting argument that is based on rule of law, common sense, logic, history and an ability to stay on point lest one's life experience may be called into question without any great difficulty.
Once a party resorts to jumping off point, issuing one liners without citing sources, and/or creates the impression of veiled personal attacks then he or she has effectively nullified his or her argument to the extent that his or her opposition is flawed and should not carry any weight or be deemed controlling in any way.
For a person to be successfull in a law enforcement career he or she must be able to demonstrate his or her ability to convey thoughts and ideas in a professional manner and not act without the benefit of intellect; otherwise, one's ability to remain objective during stressful situations may reveal a maturity level inconsitent with the high demands of professionalism--in my opinon.

Didnt I cite my source as to why cuffed is appropriate term to use in reference to being handcuffed.Once a party resorts to jumping off point, issuing one liners without citing sources, and/or creates the impression of veiled personal attacks then he or she has effectively nullified his or her argument to the extent that his or her opposition is flawed and should not carry any weight or be deemed controlling in any way.

HWPD, yes you did cite your source, and I appreciate the time you took to offer varying defininitions.
Incidentally, the etymology of 'cuff' may be a corruption of the Scandanavian word 'kuffa,' which means 'to thrust.'

i will admit that this conversation has become very deep and informative.
I do what I can do when I can do it.
we never used the word cuffed. we were told to never use abreviations.i see no problem with it as it would easily be explained away
Cuffed. Damn, I said it again.
