VSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer

Does a Virginia State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer go thru the same training as a regular state trooper and if so, can they just transfer over to the trooper ranks or is there a difference in their training and therefore need more training to transfer?

I don't know about the VSP. I know in Michigan they Motor Carrier Officers are run by the State Police they attend a similar academy (lackign a few of the courses of the Trooper Academy). But there is no Physical agility test to apply, and they are not state certifiyed police officers. Meanign only supposed to enforce comerical vehicles and only make arrest on duty..... They get screwed out of the deal.
