New San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi faces domestic violence charges

New San Francisco sheriff faces domestic violence charges - Yahoo! News

Normally, I wouldn't post articles like this as there is no reason to point out individual LEO's that fall below standards and norms. But this is special. Only in SF would this guy be Sheriff. At least I hope so. Somehow I think that if this was a LEO running for sheriff and charged with DV, it would have been leaked to the press before the election.

This says is it all - from Wiki
'Mirkarimi did not receive the endorsement of the San Francisco Deputy Sheriff's Association, the union representing sheriffs. In an endorsement election of members, Capt. Paul Miyamoto received 353 votes to Mirkarimi's 2 votes.
Interestingly, the DA for San Francisco that brought the charges is the former Chief of police of SF and the former Chief of police for Mesa AZ. Gascon is career LE starting with LAPD, veteran of the Army, and a law degree. Gascon is political but has walked the walk, so to speak.

One hopes there is a special place in Hell for the evil people who make, trade, and possess child pornography. Until they get there, we are committed to putting them in jail. -- David Procopio, Massachusetts State Police
