Well fixing to start on a the dept i got hired on at and have to buy our duty weapons.
I've got the caliber nailed down to a .40, however the model im still thinking about.
The 229 is the tried and true model that is going to fire everytime and hold up.
Does anyone have any insite into the new 2022 model that is out and if so would you reccomend it over the 229.

Sig 229 was hands down my favorite duty weapon that I've carried. I haven't heard anything negtative about the 2022, so I guess it's personal preference.

I carry a 226 on duty but carried a 229 off duty. Very reliable and has an excellent feel.

I've carried Sig 226 (.40 cal & 9mm) and 229 (.40 cal, DAK and double-single) for duty weapons. Before that I carried a Glock 17 and since carrying a Sig I doubt I'll go back to anything else (though I do carry a Baby Glock for back-up/off-duty). I'm sold on Sig, shoots great and easy to take apart for cleaning (hate breaking down my Glock!).
