Any of you looked into the SW Bodyguard? I ordered the .380 the other day...got a good deal through a friend. I'm not anticipating the comfort level to be great, but for a carry gun it should be fine. Looking forward to trying it out.

I went with a Beretta Model 84, I liked the idea of 13 shots from a .380.

my hat goes off to anyone that would carry a gun on the side of their leg .. ugh they scare me..I hate guns..they cause me to have anxiety attacks... I think i'm allergic to them
kudos to you guys for what you do.
Brief explanation of my phobia/fear: when I was in grade school a good friend of mine's mother was killed cleaning out her bedroom closet by a gun somehow the gun was fired, ever since then I have had a phobia of guns I was young when this happened , i also grew up around guns my dad was a avid hunter but I still have that fear...Last edited by SANE-A30; 01-10-11 at 03:09 PM.

I went to the range yesterday and put some rounds through the bodyguard. Overall I wasn't that impressed. The long trigger pull was really surprising and annoying (IMO). The built in laser didn't provide any help in the accuracy department. I will say that the gun was more comfortable to shoot then I thought it would be considering how small it is. Hopefully after a couple more outings I will get more consistent in my groupings.

First of all, Sane, guns don't just fire.
Reconciler, I am not a real fan of .380s. I remember the Colt Pony being a fine .380, but I could never justify it when I can pack a 9mm in a similar sized weapon (just a little thicker). With that said, the .380 ON YOUR PERSON, beats the 9mm in a drawer at home.

The only purpose I have for a 380 is for an extremely small hideout gun, like the LCP. Otherwise, as Switch said, you can get a bigger caliber in most guns the size of most 380's.
And Norm is right, S&W is just trying to cash in on the name recognition to sell their new gun.
Personally, I'll take the 6th shot of my Colt Detective Special. I'd love to get a 2.5 inch Python, but my wife says there is no way in hell that I'll be allowed to pay the price for a Python, then carry it everyday.
