Looking for experienced opinions on a couple pistols: FNH FnP 40 and PX4 Storm

    Hello everyone.
I'll start out by saying I'm a civilian. I don't think asking this is a forum violation, but if it is, please let me know. I'm a long time shooter, and chl holder and practice monthly.
I've seen that some have mentioned the PX4 Storm as department issue. I would like opinions on it.
I also would like to know if anyone knows if any departments have issued the FNH FNP 40's, or if anyone owns and has opinions on them.
The one thing I don't think I'd like about the PX4 is that the safety is on the slide, a little farther reach to it then what I currently carry, but with practice, I could adapt.

A Sig Sauer is probably above what I want to spend at this time.
I've not yet shot either one. No ranges around me rent them.
My main criteria is that it is DA/SA, with decocker/safety. I've nothing against striker fired guns, I just personally want to see a cocked/decocked hammer. When I did fondle a Smith M&P, I've never felt such a smooth slide on anything before, and that alone almost got me thinking about one for a while, but went back to my comfort zone of hammer fired pistols.

We generally do not approve of X-Rated comments on here. But, since this is gun porn it will be allowed to squeak by.

About the best advise is to shoot what interests you.

If you are looking at carrying it concealed,
smaller and thinner is better. (unless you live where
you wear a parka 10 months a year)

I will agree with Cat Doc, I am not a fan of current M&Ps.
However the chief in the next town swears by his .380.

The FNs are nice guns. The only one I have shot is the 45 and
it is HUGE like the Glock 21. I was not thrilled with the grip, but
    it shot well.

Beretta makes good toys/guns. I havnt shot a PX4, but the grip is
nice. Model 92s are still a good buy if you like metal guns with a traditional trigger. They arnt
necessaryly in style, but they alway seems to work and shoot well.
Of course, they are BIG and may not hide as well for CHL.

    Good luck with your purchase.
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL

if you are a gun nut, then FONDLE is the correct word.
I do it all the time at gunshows.
One does not caress a $3000.00 1903 Mannlicher Schoenaur carbine.

However it is bad form to drool on the rifle. (or the keyboard)

Actually, I'm surprised you cops call em guns Whenever I'm in the field with the Army or Marines and accidentally refer to them as guns, I get either a tongue lashing or watch grown men reduced to giggling teenaged girls. Therefore I always call them weapons and never call them guns around military folk

And military folks definitely fondle their weapons
