    Springfield Armory XD Compact?

Anyone have the Sub-Compact XD in 9mm? How do you like it? I'm looking for a small 9mm other than a Glock 26. Have too many Glocks looking for something different. It comes with one flush 13 round mag and one 16 rounder with extension. Size wise it is the same as the 26 w/o the extended mag.

I bought one just over a week ago. Took it to the range on Saturday and loved it. Very comfortable to shoot and accuracy was solid. Mine came with one 13 round mag and two 16 round mags. Another plus is that it is easier to conceal than my Glock 23.

The only negative thing about it is the field stripping. I like the ease of my Glock better, but I'd still give the XD two thumbs up.

    I've got one.

    I like it.

Thanks gentlemen. SA sent me the current LE price list and a list of LE distributors. I called the one in upstate NY and they gave me a dealer (ret NYPD) who they will ship to, no problem. Its become a real PITA here in NY to get a dealer that will accept a high cap (LE ONLY) gun, even if its paid for.

Can I ask, what are you using for OWB holsters? Very slim for both XD & XDm's. Thanks again!

I'm cheap. I use the gear that came with the gun.

If I had the extra skrilla, I'd IWB and pop for a CrossBreed Supertuck.

Currently I am using one of these:
Quick Draw Leather Belt Holster - Tagua Gun Leather | Gun Holsters, Leather Holsters, Pistol Holsters, Western Holsters, Shoulder Holsters, Glock Holsters.

I no doubt will be switching to a better IWB type as warmer weather hits, but for now I get enough concealment from this holster.

Thanks for the link, best leather holsters I've seen for the XD yet. Sent an email to GALCO asking them if they intend to expand their SA offerings. I like their concealable and avenger holsters.

I bought the CrossBreed Supertuck and absolutely love it. I am 5'9" and weigh about 160 and I can fully conceal my full sized SA XDm .40 under just a t shirt.

It is very comfortable, I could wear the gun all day. I would Imagine the XDSC would be even more comfortable.

Before I got the CrossBreed supertuck I thought I was going to have to buy a smaller gun for CC. After I got the holster and tried it out for a little while I fell in love with it and realized that I could actually CC my XDm.

It has a lifetime warranty, and a two week trial period, if you don't like it, they will refund you your money, no questions asked. You can also adjust the cant and ride height very easily.

I've decided to get the SuperTuck with part of my tax refund. Did you get the "combat cut" version?

Now a days its very rare that I wear a IWB holster. 99.9% of the time you will find me wearing OWB. I just find them more comfortable.

Galco emailed me back a product request form. If they get enough requests they move into production and add it to the catalog. Hopefully they will expand the SA line.

Invariably they will. If SA keeps putting out XD models (XDm even), the demand for holsters and properly sized/fitted accessories will pick up, too. In the meantime, you can probably stop by a local boot/leather shop and see if they're willing to put something together for you.

I'll have to look into getting one of those for the summer time. Were you referring to a t-shirt tucked in or left out?

I did not opt for the combat cut but I can see why it may be necessary. When drawing I need to "reposition" my grip because of the extra leather. That being said I have heard of many people creating their own combat cut with an exacto knife. It is not a big enough issue for me to correct it myself but I can understand why some people do it. With the combat cut you would clearly get a more solid, proper grip.

Either way, I don't usually tuck in my T shirt but it can definitely work that way. For instance, I went to publix earlier today. Put on the supertuck with XDm, threw on a T-shirt, and no one was the wiser. My roommates didn't even know I was carrying.
