I think buying a novice shooter a compact or sub compact weapon is a horrible idea. All that is going to do is give them a terrible case of the flinch.

Get her a full size auto or revolver. I suggest a Smith M10 .38 special with a 4 inch barrel. Easy to shoot well, and with the right ammo choice very effective.

Seriously though, I can't think of a reason to have
colored cuffs.

Though, we do have the rigid ones in SHU, and, after getting used to them,
they are pretty nice. The crooks hate them, so I like them.

I always suggest the person go to the range and feel the different guns and rent different ones to see which one is perfect for them. We are all different and our idea of the perfect firearm will not be the same as someone elses.

That said I absolutly love my Kimber 1911. Out of my entire collection it is without a doubt my favorite and when I take friends out that is always the one they ask to shoot.
