    Kimber SIS

Haven't seen a topic on this firearm yet, but was wondering if anyone has anything to say about it? I think I might get one

It is a Kimber; can't go wrong there. I would like one to add to my Warrior and CDP.

Would I pay $1300 for a kimber fullsize pistol? Heeeeeeel no. Is it a good gun, yup! It's all what you WANT. I think you need to consult the folks over at www.ILOVE1911s.com for a better perspective.

I was being a smartass with the website. My point was to check out a 1911' based website for the answer to your question.

The SIS is a really nice pistol. I do not like the SIS serrations on the slide, I like the old style serrations. I own a Kimber Ultra CDP with the internal extractor and have had no problems with it. As with any 1911 pattern pistol, you need to fire between 200-500 rounds thru it, before carrying it.

Another gun you shold look at is the S & W 1911PD, either Commander or Gov't sized pistol. They are the Scadium frame pistols, are well made and reliable. I just purchased the 4.25 inch commander 1911PD. Fit and finnish is flawless and it has been 100% reliable with 300 rounds so far. If you order it as a LEO, use SKU#408283. In that configuration it is packaged with 3 mags, as opposed to 2 with the civie SKU#. The MSRP is $1082 on the 408283 gun, $1,130 on the 208283 gun. Most dealers discount the gun to $750-850 and S & W has a $100 rebate offer until April 30th.

Just remeber, one can never own enough 1911's.
