I am looking into replacing my on duty weapon, a Glock 22.
Considering purchasing a Sig P226, .40 cal. Would like to hear from anybody out there with good or bad experiences with Sig. Thanx

I have the P229 which is basically the same as the p226 but with only 13 round mags instead of 15. I have nothing but good things to say about sigs and everyone that I know that has one says the same thing. I've talked to a few range guys and they rarely hear of anybody having any malfunctions with the sig. As far as my opinion, you can't get much better.
They are the best handguns out there imo. Glock comes in second

An officer in my home town bought a .226 of one of the Deputies in our county. He let me shoot it back to back with a Beretta ... no competition ... Firstly, the Deputy says he's kicking himself and he doesn't know why he sold the gun in the first place. He's having a hard time finding a better gun. Secontly, that gun is the reason I fell in love with SIGs in the first place. The follow through is very smooth, makes it incredibly easy to keep the gun on target (youre not wobbling all over) its has a very natural feeling (very good acuacy). Another thing that I like is the way SIG grips are. For the life of me I can't stand GLOCK grips, feels really mechanical and just doesn't sit right with my hand or fingers.
I carry the 229, again basically the same gun as the 226. When I was issued my gun it was brand new, and since I've shot at least 3 thousand rounds through it. I have never had a malfunction. Great gun....
What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?
Its good to hear all of this positive feedback on sigs. I am getting ready to get a 229/.357 issue and look forward to owning a highly reputable gun.
Our officers carry SigPros and they are very pleased with them. They have never had any problems with there duty weapons. Sig is a very very good handgun.
Oh hun, you are singing my song ... I just got my permit to purchase and Im going after the SP2340 *drool*Originally posted by klsprunger
