He said that there might be that split second where you are reaching for your gun by your side when it is in the shoulder holster and that bit of time might do you in. Its something to consider, other than that or if you work plainclothes or carry concealed all the time I think that they're great.
This would be for my HK P7M8 which is a medium sized single stack 9. I think it will conceal very well using this shoulder rig. My main purpose for this holster would be for long drives or while I'm sitting in my car for long periods of time. Also when I go out for a quick run, etc... However it might just work better in certain situations where I can not wear a holster on my belt. The guy that used this holster always wore a t-shirt then shoulder rig then another button down shirt over it. He says he's carried in this fashion for 4 years straight. I hear ya on the uniformity. This worries me a little bit but if I train constantly with the shoulder rig I hope I'll be ok (being able to transition from hip to shoulder vice versa). But its true, I've always carried on my hip... we'll see how it works out....

You can up to a point. Mitch Rosen makes custom ie. fitted holsters. My advice is try it on and see how it feels. Like I said 130.00$ is a damn good buy.

So these shoulder rigs really go for $350+? That is insane. You can buy well...a used Glock! Mitch Rosen is one of the few that still makes an HK P7 holster. I hear its one of the hardest holsters to design. That's why no one makes them. I had Ken Null build me an easy on/off and its supurb. Matt Del Fatti is another guy that makes a mean P7 holster. De Santis makes junk, and so did Galco. The mold and fit wasn't really the best.

Just my luck, the guy told me he can't meet until Friday night. I am growing impatient!

Prime example of the holster making art

Thanks, I looked at the Mitch Rosen site. Now I understand what this guy is talking about. He told me he actually prefers the "express line" version of the "Style Master" better. The express version is not hand boned (which is what I love) but from what I hear - the quality is the same and its a ton cheaper!! It also doesn't have the elastic straps that hold the mags in. The guy told me he is not fond of these.

I saw the price, I should be getting a deal if the holster rig is in "good" shape. He only wore it a year he said so...

I guess he just got his Del Fatti Shoulder Rig last week and he likes it more since it was built to his specs. Hence selling me this one. I'll get back to u guys after I see this thing and try it on.

also a side note, he ordered his Rosen as a size 40 regular which is perfect because I am the same size.

Tried it out. I can say it is a decent rig. I had to adjust the ride of both the holster and mag carrier because they were a bit low for me. I like it right up to the armpit so that it conceals well and there is less movement. Overall its decent and works. The thing I don't like is the mag carrier w/snaps. His actually does not have the elastic so its hard to unsnap them as they get in the way when trying to get a mag out quick.

When I compared it to his new Del Fatti shoulder rig I have to say Del Fatti takes the cake. Del Fatti's does not utilize snaps on the mag carrier and they are pointed "forward" instead of "down". The fit and finish on his rig was a lot better. More comfortable and the draw is a lot more smooth. Must be different type of leather used...

Overall I would NEVER pay full price for any Rosen product. They are over priced. Overated for sure. Oh well I might just consider getting a Del Fatti instead.

To be honest, for some odd reason, i don't sweat a lot... i don't know why...

I thought Mel Gibson did wear one in part 3 or 4... and very briefly in Die Hard (the first scene). Or the pinnacle of them all Robbery Homicide Division (when it aired) - every det. had one.
