    SigSauer P-220 .45 ACP

My favorite handgun! I love my Sig.
As a former 'wheelgun' user, I had my doubts about getting a semi-auto, but this fabulous piece has changed my opinions.

I can load 8 different makes and types of ammo in the clip...everything from jacketed hollow-points to full lead plinker loads and this hungry wolf devours them all without a hiccup... in fact, out of about 500 rounds fired, it's NEVER jammed...not even once.

I am wondering if this is common with most quality semi-autos...I had heard in the past that some officers shun them because of fears of a jam in a "tight" situation...

Also, in today's used handgun market, what would my Sig be worth? It's the basic blue model in perfect condition.

    SiG 220

There isnt much better then the 220 in 45. although the HK USP comes close. I carried a 220 in 45 for about ten years while in plainclothes assignments. I could consistently bring in better qualification scores with the 220 VS the dept issue Beretta 92. The 220 is smooth, and recoil recovery for that 2nd and 3rd shot is timed right to my sight picture, trigger squeeze and the let-off. I found most ammo shot to the same point on the target so I never touched the sights. Some folks really go for the 1911 Colt type 45 autos, nothing wrong with them either, just personal preferences.

Our dept switched to Glock just before I came over and everyone that wanted to got to buy their own Sig for dirt cheap:( I hear nothing but good about them.

Weapons (particularly handguns) are like rock climbing shoes, if you trust them they will work. The Sigs don’t suit me, my hands are big and I continually touch the slide catch so it won’t lock to the rear on the last round. I used the 220 and now I got the 229 (more rounds), once I adjusted my grip I really enjoyed the 220 but found it lacking in the ammo dept. Great weapons from a combat point of view, very accurate, controllable and what I like most “reliable”. Sig really stands behind there products.

I personally liked shooting the Kimber 1911 .45. I like the feel of it. I didn't think the recoil was bad at all.

I'm not too comfortable shooting a Glock 10mm. I felt a pull in the center of my back. Too much energy for me.

I'm planning on replacing my HK .40 USP with a Sig P226 .40 as my duty weapon very soon. I've shot a 226 a few times recently, & I've enjoyed it much more than the HK.

I have a Sig P220 in stainless with the railing. I never use it. I guess I never got use to the DA/SA. But it is a nice piece. Its just too bulky for concealed carry.

I think ever since I started shooting and carrying my HK P7M8 I have put the rest of my handguns in the vault. I have never went back to my Glock 23/35, Sig 220/225/229, HK USP 40, Smith Performance Center shorty forty, Kimber Eclipse Pro, Wilson Combat custom tactical.

There is something about the P7M8... I am extreamly accurate with it and I've used it in a few IDPA matches with very good results. Its a keeper.
