Hello everyone-
I am in the market for a glock and and looked at a few compensated models. I was wondering if anyone has/ever fired a compensated glock and what your opinion was on these. Thanks guys.

I loved it. Hardly any recoil. Makes a follow-up shot easier. Down side. Harder to clean, easier to get trash in the ports and if you ever night fire it it'll somewhat blind you.

Night blindness and sometimes even debris being thrown from the weapon keeps me away from compensated pistols. Mostly the night blindness though.
I shoot both a compensated and non compensated.
I much prefer the non compensated as it requires me to maintain good firearm skills vs having the compensation be a crutch.
Forgot about that one. Very true, I'd never fire it without eye protection.Originally Posted by Somebody

As already mentioned, firing from retention would suck with a ported weapon. I had a barrel that was ported for my G33. It was fun to toy with. We used to call it the the dragon barrel, as it would really put out some flash! If you were unlucky enough to ever safety me during IDPA when I shot this thing, you would leave with a headache.
Like I said, it was for fun. Even with eye protection (which we all know that we do not wear ALL the time), shooting a ported gun from retention would be VERY dangerous. I know with my G33, you would not have any facial hair when you were done... and that is assuming that some flash did not find its way under your glasses.
Why limit yourself in how you can shoot! Stay away from ported guns unless they are soley range guns for fun... and it is my experience that the ported guns help only marginally (at best). Just my $.02.

I had a V-10 from Springfield (.45 compact 1911 type). Traded it for a 228. Like switch said, dont limit yourself. You never know what you'll have to do with that weapon. That V-10 of mine would put out 2 foot v shaped shaped flames out the front. Cool to look at but it was not practical.

I shot it at night, and yeah it was a FLAMER! Short barrel handguns tend to do that no matter what though ;)
