Three guns.

IMHO......

Every shooter should have these three guns in their safe,

1. The S&W M10 .38 special.

2. The Mossberg 500 12 ga.

3. The Marlin 336C 30/30 carbine.

With these three guns, you have everything from self defense to hunting covered. Your thoughts? Opinions, etc.

I am more of a Remington man for shotguns. The others (or variations) can't really be argued too much.


I'm pretty happy with a couple Glocks, an AR15 and an S&W 36.

Nine would be the logical choice, but whatever makes you happy. Good call on the .22. I should have brought that up.

I miss having my .357sig on duty, though the .40 is a fine round.

...also, add a Savage Mark II LV, .22lr to my list. It's just plain fun and great for the kids.

.40 and .357 have the SAME number f rounds. Afterall, the .357sig is just a .40 casing necked down to a 9mm bullet.

Having done a lot of readin on ballistics, I like the .357 sig's performance on barriers (windhshields, sheet metal, drywall, etc). It tends to fragment less than the .40. Also, with the bottlenecked cartridge, you actually have better feeding, allowing a tighter lockup in the chamber (better accuracy). Finally, the .357sig is an extrememly flat-shooting round... again, making it extremely accurate.

Yeah, Norm's right. Same for a .45 vs. a 9mm. The little increase in size really doesn't matter when consider duty-caliber rounds. Just put the rounds where they need to be and most reputable ammo will do the rest for ya!
