    Back up gun holster

I am lookin for a holster to use for a backup gun. It cant not be an ankle holster but has to be concealed while on patrol.I was thinkin maybe one that fits on the inside of my pants but how would I be able to tuck my shirt in and keep it concealed? What do other officers use as holsters for back up weapons? Thanks for any feedback

Your only other real choice is a holster that mounts to your body armor. If you wear a in-the-waistband holster with a duty belt on it will be quite uncomfortable plus a pain to get to. I wear the Uncle Mike's vest holster with a Glock 27 in it.

On topic.....go with the vest holster if it's allowable. Any cop shop or Galls like catalog will sell them. Uncle Mike's works well for me as well with my Glock 33.
Off topic.....PM DC Law and get verified so you can talk about this on the other side and you will tend to get more/better answers.

I got a BUG from Calibre Press. It was a pocket that sewed onto the front of my vest cover (I had the cleaners do it as they had sewing facilities as well). You put the gun in the pocket and there was a frag plate that covered the outline of the gun. It had a pull cord. In an emergency I could pull my uniform shirt open and yank the cord and have the gun in my hand. After some practice I could draw really fast.

This was better than the vest holster because it was on the front of my vest not under my arm and it hid the gun beautifully. Nobody ever knew it was there and even I forgot about it since it was so comfortable.

We don't get to carry a back up except ol thunder and lightning. That be my right and left crosses! In San Diego, we carried the Glock 22 for duty, and everybody hid a Glock 27 somewhere on themselves. Still have my lil G-27, and I love it. My wife has a Walther PPK 380 in the bed drawer, and I'll be darned if she ain't half bad with it.

    back up gun holster

I have been a long-time user of the "BUG" vest hoster for my G27 when on-duty. I recently changed angencies and now I need a blue/black one instead of the white I have been using. I am having a devil of a time locating a vendor who still sells this product. Anyone know how to get touch with the manufacter or a vendor that sells them? Calibre Press doesn't carry them anymore and I can't seem to find any info on the web. Thanks!

That's a shame. If you find them post here. If my agency ever allows BUGs I'll get one right away.

    My turn:

I'm a righty and wear a left handed iwb holster on my right side tucked into the straps of my vest. It works great for my g27, and have never lost it in a foot pursuit or a fight.
Drive it, Like you stole it!!
