The ladysmith (S&W) is a 9mm and the grip is designed differently. I knew a girl that carried one and it fit her hand perfectly. When I tried it I found the grip to slim.

Just in THIS instance, warlock. :D

It's not that I didn't believe you, warlock, but I just honestly didn't know what a woman's gun was.

They made autos and revolvers both. I just neglected to mention the auto since the revolver was what was mentioned.

It is my understanding the LadySmith is chambered in .38 only. I know because I own one. I am not familiar with the 9mm version and if it did it would have to have half moon clips in order to load it since the nine is a autolaoding round and the LadySmith is a revolver. Of course, I have been out of touch for a while:D

P.S. I got the LadySmith because it was the last of the blue steel revolvers Smith made and I love the bluing process Smith used to do.

    Mac,
Would that be the kind you would have me shoot with (you know my experience with firearms)?

The LadySmith was designed to appeal to the fairer sex. My line of thinking is a revolver is a revolver.;) But sure, it is a handy little five shot revolver that comes with a lockable case. The one I have has a laser in the grip made by LaserLight. The regular grips are made out of rosewood. Go to your local gun dealer and see if he has one and check it out.

OK, I had to go and check to make sure my memory is working right.

I found these models of LadySmith on the S&W site.

    65LS .38/.357 Mag

    3913LS 9mm (automatic)

    642LS .38 S&W Special +P (snubby)

36 LS (another snubby with exposed hammer and blue finish)

You can go to their site and select the products section and use these model numbers to bring up pics and more details about these weapons.

    http://www.smith-wesson.com

Looks like we were all right.
