I want to work for a dept that allows me to carry my Ruger Super Redhawk with 300 gr.(its a .454 Casull) Speer Golddot ashtrays for daily use.

A correction is due.

The Normandy Police Department in Missouri now carries the Glock 21 .45 ACP. Detectives, Lt. and Chief carry the Glock 30 .45 ACP. Shotguns are Remington 870's and Winchester 1300 Defenders. AR-15 Carbines are issued to Supervisors.

I've often wondered what the theory is behind only issuing Supervisors high-powered weapons. Why would they be more likely to need them than a Patrol level Officer? Seems like it should be 'all or none'.
