Does anyone have any clue about Kansas City, Kansas? List shows .38 special Colt but does anyone know what they are issuing now, that may be current and maybe the officers have to purchase their own?

Evansville (Indiana) Police Department
Glock G21 .45 ACP Duty weapon
Glock G36 .45 ACP Off duty
Glock G30 .45 ACP Off duty
Glock G26 9 mm Back-up only
I suggest adding authorized backup (within reason) to you list. That would be interesting.
Many new entries and updates at http://worldinventory.googlepages.com/home

Last I checked Chicago did not issue guns, they had guidelines so you could purchase your own. My dept is pretty liberal however we cannot carry 9mm/smaller.
You can bet that I stand ready, when the Wolf growls at your door.
Corrections:
Connecticut State Police carries the Sig P229 .40, not the 226. They are currently considering new guns, most likely the 229R due to their criteria. They never issued Beretta 84's, those were personally purchased guns that were approved for plainclothes carry.
New Haven, CT carries G17 9mm unless they've changed in the last 6 months.
West Haven, CT carries S&W 4506 .45
North Haven, CT carries Beretta 96 DAO .40
Orange, CT carries sigPro .357SIG
Woodbridge, CT carries Sig P229 .40
Milford, CT carries Sig P226 9mm
Hamden, CT carries Glock 22 .40
Southbury, CT recently swapped in their S&W Sigmas for new S&W M&P40 .40
Lastly, Slidell, LA carries Glock 17/22/31 Unknown caliber, not the FN 5.7mm

Forgive me for not reading all 8 pages.
Are you interested in federal agencies?
If so they should have their own section, rather than a listing for each state.
Just a suggestion![]()
Iowa State Patrol
Smith & Wesson M&P 40 cal. from 2006 - present.
Excuse me Officer, I have a stupid Question. "No problem, I've got a stupid answer for you!"
Thanks for the new info.
And yes, I am working on the Feds as well, and they'll get their own page.
Cheers

The SC Hwy Patrol, NYSP, PA State Police, and GA State Patrol now all have gone to the Glock 37 as standard issue sidearm. PA and SC will also issue the G38 to plainclothes troopers; GA and SC issue the 39 to everyone in addition to the main weapon.
Wake county Sheriff department issues Sig 229, Rocky mount Just switched to the smith and wesson M&P all calibers. I believe the NC State troopers also carry Sig 229. Great list.
Lets see:
Virginia:
Albemarle County Police Department:
1983-1999 Beretta 92 series (they had SB, F, FS, and G models) 9x19mm
1999-Present, H&K USP40 Compact .40S&W
Albemarle County Sheriff:
Has since switched to the Glock 22
Charlottesville City Police:
Switched to the H&K USP45 and 45 Compact around 1999
Has since switched to the Glock 21 .45ACP
Danville City Police:
Glock 22 .40S&W
The Danville Sheriff is a city sheriff, not a county sheriff, as far as I know they still have the 59xx and 69xx series S&W 9mm pistols
Pittsylvania County Sheriff:
Had the Beretta 92FS Inox 9x19mm
Switched to the Glock 22 .40S&W around 2005
Old Dominion University Police:
Had the S&W 6946 9x19mm
Switched to the Glock 22 around 2005
North Carolina:
Roxboro City Police:
Beretta 96FS .40S&W, switching to the Glock 22 in 2009
Person County Sheriff:
Beretta 96FS .40S&W, switching to the S&W M&P40 in 2009
Caswell County Sheriff:
Glock 21 .45ACP
Durham County Sheriff:
Had 45xx series S&W .45ACP pistols
Switched to the S&W M&P45 .45ACP in 2008
I was reading over the seperate list of service weapons and I think spotted a few errors...
In the North Carolina page I do not believe there is an Anapolis Police Dept in Anapolis, NC. That seems to be a mistaken carry over of Annapolis, Maryland.
Also, there is as far as I know no longer a Charlottle Police Department. It was folded together with the Mecklenburg County Sheriffs Office to be the Charrlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in the 1980s. As the CMPD has its own listing, the CPD could not have issued anything in 2007.
Thanks, all updates and errata included!
Cheers

Virginia Beach PD has never issued the Glock 22.
They issue the Glock 17 to patrol / Detectives and the command staff has the option of going with a Glock 19.
Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office issues the Glock 19.
