    > A correction is due.

Wait, I see I have entries for Normandy in both Montana and Missouri. The entry for Montana already lists the guns you name, plus the Bushmaster XM15E2S carbine. Either there are two Normandys or I mixed it up.

    Cheers

Can you specifiy the exact model (or if you don't know, the defining parameters such as barrel length, sights, stock, etc)?

There are quite a few Colt carbine models. 14.5 or 16.1 inch barrel? Stepped for M203 grenade launcher or not? Detachable handle or not? Semi only, I assume?

    Thanks!

Sorry, did not know you need all specs. It is 14.5 barrel, fixed handle and semi only. Curious where you got the info for Normandy Missouri's weapons issue?

    >It is 14.5 barrel, fixed handle and semi only.

    That would make it . . . the CAR-15A2 R6521, right?

    >Curious where you got the info for Normandy Missouri's weapons issue?

I can't remember. Probably either from their website or from a board. I also read various magazines etc, which often carry information like that. It's mostly a question of assembling all the data that is out there.

But I am a bit suspicious about this mixup now, the lists of Normandy Montana and Normandy Missouri are too similar, one of them must be wrong (further digging reveals there is no Normandy in Montana. Oops). Probably Montana, since you have the data for Missouri. Only leaves me with the Bushmaster carbine hanging in the air, are you certain the Normandy Missouri guns are Colt's and not Bushmaster?

    Thanks for your patience!

    Cheers

But, if an agent needed one and we were short of them, I would give up mine to someone who would probably be a lot more likely to need it.

Austin, Texas list is incorrect. No sidearms are issued. All duty weapons are officer purchase off an approved list. There are some Remington 870's and full sized AR's issued for patrol. the MP5's are strictly SWAT, being replaced by M4's. There was never any consideration given to P90's.

Ar-15's are allowed thru officer purchase after a carbine course. 1911's are approved.

Financial assistance? That's a good one! On the bright side, ammo is free for practice, no limit. (other than range availibility) Sadly, very few officers take advantage of this. I burned up 3K of 9mm and 1K of .223 this year:D

1911's on the approved list are: Colts, Springfield, Para-Ord, and Kimber. High caps or otherwise. Commander or full size. Caliber is limited to .45. Night sights required.

That new .45 of Smith@Wesson (forget the number) is awaiting approval.

    [QUOTE=Johninaustin]Austin, Texas list is incorrect.

Thanks for making me aware of this! Actually, however, it only says the SWAT officers get the USP (which may be wrong of course)

    >No sidearms are issued. All duty weapons are officer purchase off an approved list.

    Could you post that list?

    >There are some Remington 870's and full sized AR's issued for patrol.

Which AR-15 variant? A commercial model or modified ex-Army M16A1s?

    >the MP5's are strictly SWAT,

Right, that's what it says there.

    >being replaced by M4's.

    Which make and model?

    > There was never any consideration given to P90's.

Hm. I can't remember where I got this bit of info from, but I think it was a photo (trials, in that case?). I bow to your inside knowledge, however.

    Thanks!

If Austin PD is still allowing 1911's when I get out of the Army in 4 years (just re-upped to go to Hawaii again) then I may put in for hire. Thats the only thing Im looking for in a department, allowing sidearm of choice, which would be my springfield.

Latest Version. The list has grown so long that I need three posts . . .

Again I'd like to point out that I am also very interested in historical information such as older guns, dates of adoption, etc.

Many thanks for any info you can share!

    Cheers
