I can't remember the last time I saw a raid jacket worn. Most are like mine, stuffed under the seat of the car, accessible in case there is some SHTF scenario where you need instant identification. I've gone through 3 cars without mine having to go on. 
Otherwise, Goldbadger is generally right. It can vary from district to district, though. Some have some pretty silly in-house policies on attire.
