I wasn't aware that we had a presence down there. At least an 'official' presence. I'm sure it would be a challenging position, that's for sure.

Send cigars if you get the job......
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

I was on the Gitmo naval base website and it says the US does not have any formal diplomatic relations with Cuba. Unless the website hasn't been updated of course.

United States Interests Section in Havana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I wouldn't apply for the job by any means, but I was just caught off guard by a job in Havana listed on USAjobs.
One Big Ass Mistake America
The "Interests Section" in the Vedado District of downtown Havana. It is surrounded by Cuban police and military who will not let anyone near it unless they have a non-Cuban passport or special permission to enter, the main point being to keep Cubans out. The Cubans refer to the Interest Section as the "Nest of Spies."
Right across the street from it (to the left in the picture) is a blue building which the Cubans call their Diplomatic Protection Unit, but which basically spies on and monitors the goings on at the Interests Section.
