I have been searching the threads on several forums but havent found anything dealing specifically with the USMS DEO. I am going for my interview for the DC Office on Jan 7th. Can anyone give me any insight into the DEO hiring process. Is there a PT for the DEO position? Written test? Thanks in advance.

I can only speak as to what I have seen in my district. The DEO's did not take a PT test when they came on the job. However, they were required to go to DEO school at FLETC within a year of being hired. That's where the PT comes in. The guys I know all went through an interview process. Recently, several guards at a local bop facility where we house were arguing over their test scores, so I'm assuming there's a written test as well. I also believe that LE experience is required. Hope some of that is useful.

Thanks alot. I am currently a C/O in the BOP but want out desperatly. I have a degree and 3 years fed experience with the BOP. I am not sure if people were refering to the score on the online questionairre or a written test score. I worked in a detention center for almost 3 years and a few guys I worked with went to the DEO and didnt even go to FLETC for DEO because they got picked up so fast for their deputy. Thanks for the insight hope more people will join the convo.

I had a PT test to get hired as a DEO back of 07 if that helps.
