ICE Written Test

I am under the understanding that the ICE written test has recently changed from the TEA Exam to its own ICE test within the last couple of years. Is there any study books (ie. arco) that is specific to the new ICE written exam. The only one I found recently online is the ARCO U.S. Marshall's TEA Exam book (9th Edition). I know there is an abbreviated study guide on ICE's website but I am looking for something more in-depth.

Last question, I know that if you get hired as a special agent (1811) or a border patrol agent before you turn 37 you can transfer to another 1811 position after you turn 37 because you are already in the retirement system. Does Federal Air Marshalls fall into this category as well. Can I get hired by FAMS at 32 and then say when I am 40, could I put in for ICE or another 1811 position?

From what I have read it is easier to switch from one 1811 to another...
It might be harder to switch from an 1801 to an 1811 because (officer to agent, you know?) but with the recent ice lateral transfer that is out it states that if you performed the duties and qualifications for the 1811 it is possible. It might require more work on your part but it is somewhat possible.

Yes, about 4 years ago, ICE dropped the TEA and renamed it the ICE SA exam. It is very similar to the TEA math and reading comprehension-wise. Also there is no "Investigations" section on the ICE exam as there was on the TEA. Personally I used the ARCO TEA exam to study the math (very similar) and reading comp (exactly the same) sections and it served me very well. Just skip the investigations part of the study guide (the ICE exam has a basic english section instead). ICE also has a study guide that I believe is available for download from ICE.gov. That along with the ARCO book should prepare you just fine.

As for your second question, FAMS have 6c LE retirement coverage same as 1811's. So your clock "stops" after you EOD. You can then apply to any other covered agency and your age wont be an issue if you are older than 37.

Not sure how it's changed in the last 4-5 years, but I took the ICE test a while back and failed it (was never told what my score was, or what portions I didn't pass), so I'm not much help. I do recall the ICE recruiter sent me a test study guide, which I used in addition to the ARCO TEA study guide, but probably not as much as I should have for either one.

I remember the math and English/vocabulary sections being fairly tough, and I believe there was a psychological series of questions as well.
