Good resource, if you ever happen to be in a state where you're unsure what authority is granted to you by the state (in addition to what authority you have through the USG, and what your agency allows by policy, of course): PEACE OFFICERS
Also, Massachusetts isn't listed, but having a recent situation occur where I needed to find out about peace officer status for feds, I can confirm that it is not provided by MA statute.
