I have been trying to get a full-time instructor position at FLETC. I have been told that I am qualified yet I can't get over the hump of getting an interview. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you are qualified, it would seem that you would have the connections necessary to make the connections required to "get over the hump."
It may be a little easier for us to answer any specific questions if we knew a little more about you, since you seem to be insinuating that you have some LE experience (wanting to teach at FLETC and all). May I suggest the common courtesy of an introduction.

The guys that I know usually start off as instructors for their agency academies at FLETC. Obviously, there are other avenues for locals and such, but I am not as familair with their avenues.
Is your department receptive to sending you to one of their instructor certifications? It would give you credentials useful to your agency (beneficial in getting them to fund it), allow you to network with those at the academy, as well as fulfill one of their requirements to instruct there. All Instructors need to go through the LE Instructor Training Program. If I recall, it is 2 weeks. I went through, but it has been a while, so I am not sure.

Can't speak for the entirety of FLETC Glynco staff, but from what I've seen in a half dozen or so classes I've attended, the instructors who are not current/former federal LEOs are LEOs from Glynn County area (where FLETC Glynco is located).

Uh... I think, according to his intro, he is a local.
...and you will note about how I said most (federal) instructors start off as instructors for their respective agencies.![]()
