    Dea ptt

I took my panel interview a few weeks ago and found out last week that I had passed the interview. I've been training for my PTT for the past weeks but I have a question regarding the actuall PTT itself. When doing the different physical tasks, how much time is given to rest between each task. For example how much time in between pullups and situps, situps and pushups....etc. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Not much time, its pretty fast and furious. Especially between the shuttle run and the 2-mile. Think 5 minutes max. That shuttle run wears you out then you have to use whatever you have left for that 2 mile. My recommendation is to do distance running mixed with sprints to prepare. Good Luck!

5 minutes between each task isn't too bad. But we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the input. Gotta start practicing the whole test all together now.

The amount of rest depends on who is giving the test, how many people are taking the test, and the facilities. As Maverick said, it will usually be about 5 minutes. However many places you will have longer before the run because you will have to move from a gym to a track.

In the academy, you'll probably get 5-10 minutes between events because of the number of people taking the test (but be warned, they are strict on protocol). However, the track is right next to the gym, so you won't get an extended rest between the first four events and the 2 mile run.

Also, here is the DEA's guide to the PTT:
