    ICE Academy grad. soon..now what?

Well, I grad. ICE-D training on the 17th....then 5 weeks of Spanish training...fun, fun. Can anyone tell me what to expect day-to-day at work. I will be at a PC in Florence. I have heard many things to expect, however, with the mass conversion to private security companies taking over detention and some transport, I am wondering if that will put us out in the field more doing CAP duties, FUG-OPS, ect...I also know that we have entered into a joint effort with the DEA. I am hoping there will be more task force coll. duties. Any feedback?....Also, if anyone has any questions about FLETC....ask away.

I'm not an IEA, but I know and work with a bunch. If you're going to be in Florence, I'll bet that you'll be doing lots of processing. When you get some time on, maybe you'll get onto a Fug Ops team, or a Prosecution team, or something similar. Then, after about 5 years, you'll start to apply for all the DO jobs in your area. Good luck with the new job.

Being the new guy, count on crap work... even IF your group is involved in higher-speed activities.

Florence is a Service Processing Center. I don't know why they call it that, because you will be primarily there watching detainees at the camp. FLO and EAZ (Eloy) are detention facilities, so expect a lot of transport.

You guys are supposed to start responding to calls, but you keep passing them off to us. I don't know how lucky you will get regarding specialty teams, they typically go by senority or rotation and you will be bottom of the totem pole.
