I got the "call" today. Got my # 3 choice field office to start March 1st. I hope my spot goes to someone good. Unfortunately, after all this time waiting for today to come, I had to decline. I found out I was pregnant last month. Things have a "funny" way of working out. Good luck to all of you who are waiting for your call.

Latest intel I got today from very reliable sources:

1. Likely two (2) non-1811 classes (i.e. CITP and SABT) for FY2010, with a total of 48 new hires. CITP for both to begin March and May.

2. FY2011 likely to have the same numbers (i.e. 48 non-1811 agent hires), with two (2) classes of CITP/SABT as well.

Thanks for the intel ROS, glad your on the board. I just heard from my background folks that my investigation and medical paperwork are finished, and that my packet is awaiting the next hiring board. My question is when are the next hiring boards? Based on the fact that the last class for non-1811s is in May, I may be waiting a long time, since I haven't even seen a hiring board yet.

No clue when the next hiring board is (that's done at HQ), but based on the context of your statement above, it sound like you think the hiring board is an interview you attend, like the screening board. For clarification, the hiring board isn't something you (an applicant) have any role in, or have to show up for. It's when the decision makers at HQ get together and decide on which applicants get picked to fill training classes.

If you meant something else by not having "seen" a hiring board, then disregard.

Ring leader? No, just someone who's been in your shoes not too long ago.

Yes, while not a guarantee of anything, getting an update on location preferences is a sign that you're still in the running. If you're willing to go anywhere, be sure to advise that, as it has helped some get hired sooner when the agency knows you're willing and able to go wherever they need to fill slots.

I just realized I never introduced myself. I have been following the forums for a while (I know now to avoid the Red Carpet Lounge and take bug spray to FLETC). I initially applied to NCIS in May 2008. In November 2008, I had to re-apply due to the USAJOBS switch. I met with the recruiter in April 2009, and had the panel interview in June 2009. Background a medical started shortly after, then the long wait. I recieved my pool letter in December 2009 and got the call in last week for a FLETC date in March and was given my first choice for location. Seems like an agonizingly long time, but compared to some it looks like my process went pretty smoothly.

The status on my Quickhire has changed. It says I didn't meet basic eligibility requirements which is weird since I have a master's, almost have my Ph.D., and I'm a current FLEO.
