    Background Investigations

I have been scanning the Fed forum here for the past few days, and it seems that people have questions, which have been answered well and in depth, but they seem to be asked over and over again.

Here is my scenario: I was in the Intelligence Field in the Marine Corps (don't laugh, we hate that) and held a TS//SCI clearance. After I got out, I joined the BoP and submitted my SF-85, which, thankfully, was a few pages shorter than my SF-86 (which I still have on file).
So, even though the Public Trust Clearance is a few steps down from what I had before, they did it.
AND, since I am in the USMS hiring process, should I make it that far, they will do it all again.
They are the Federal Govt. They have the time and money and people. And if it has been done before, they know where to look. Even though they didn't require it for the BoP, the got ahold of my FSBI Poly and looked through that.

So yes, they will be thorough.

The best advice that many have offered it this: Be honest. If you hide it, they will find it.

And, with that, good luck to everyone in their endeavors.
