CBP - Office of Internal Affairs, Security Management Division

Looking for anyone with a little insight to this position. I obtained an interview in DC in two weeks and have located little in the way of specific information. Yes, I have read the announcement and understand the criteria of the position, vulnerability assessments, etc. I guess I am searching for day-to-day info on the position; fast paced vs. boredom, movement vs. stationary, public interaction vs. isolation. I am the type that likes to be in constant movement with a challenge and want to go into the interview with as much info as possible. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

I've never heard of the Security Management Division.

But all the CBP IA's I know are prior 1811 with a few (very few) USBP agent thrown in.

    BP348,

Never being desirous of a social faux pas, I thank you for your answer. Sorry it has taken this much time in response, an egregious breach of etiquette indeed. Alas there is relatively little information in regards to the CBP, IA - SMD available Internet wide. However I have my interview in DC on Thursday and feel as prepared as I can based on information that I have gleaned, the announcement profile, and my background.

All that to say, thanks for taking the time.

    Cheers

Interview went very well - in my eyes anyway! SMD seems like a great organization with very motivated individuals. I will add that the flow of information during the process made it seem like more of a conversation than an interview, the gentlemen that I met with were high energy, sold their department's accolades incredibly well, and presented a package that is highly desirable. I know that if they present an offer I will jump on it quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Downside.....All things being relative, the positions require funding and anticipation being the mothershucker...one must wait, so the waiting game will start, we shall see what the future entails.

Positive side is that I was able to say "hello" to some fallen friends at the The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and remember better times.

    Cheers
