The FBI is the major agency that looks for specific degrees. The FBI fast tracks those with certain degrees. Right now, the flavor of the day is biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, and several languages.
Most other federal agencies jsut want a degree. They do not give extra consideration to a CJ. Some agencies like accounting such as IRS and some smaller OIGs.
Most local agencies I know are the same way, though there are exceptions.
