I.C.E. police cruisers?

Hi all. new here. I live in New Hampshire, on the coast. I recently seperated from my immigrant wife (She's from Moldova), and I had to cancel her immigration paperwork, she was still "pending" and hadnt received her EAD yet and we had not had our interview at USCIS in Manchester, NH. She has chosen not to utilize "Willful Departure", and is still in my home town illegally. She is out of status, knows she has been reported to I.C.E., and continues to stay in the U.S. and is now even working illegally again.

Everything has been reported to I.C.E., and I recently saw a weird police cruiser around the area she is now staying. It was navy blue and looked federal, however I was going the opposite direction and couldnt read the decal on the door.

Anyone know if I.C.E. uses dark blue cruisers? It was definitely out of the ordinary. Thanks in advance!

ICE/FPS utilizes marked vehicles. Unless the someone is question is on gov't property, ICE/FPS has no immigration authority of which BIG is aware.

In short order ICE/FPS will be removed from ICE, leaving ICE/OI & ICE/DRO as major public entities. Most of the public are unaware of & have no dealings with ICE/OPR, ICE/International Affairs & ICE/Intel.

That makes a lot of sense. I could never figure out what protecting federal buildings had to do with Immigration or Customs.

As far as that cruiser goes, what about it made you think it was federal? Did you actually see federal plates? I ask because I have never seen an FPS cruiser in any other color than white with a blue stripe.

ICE, when it was originally created in 2003, was more than a merger of US Customs and Immigration and Naturalization Service. It was designed to be DHS' "super agency" to combat terrorism. That lasted until Congress stripped them of having jurisdiction on terrorism cases and decided to keep that authority with FBI (kinda defeated the purpose of creating ICE and DHS in the first place, but I digress). This is why ICE originally had Customs, Immigration, Air Marshals (now under TSA), FPS, and several other agencies. I hear they even had Jack Bauer on their payroll back then.

On a side note, I've seen local police with "ICE" written on the side of their vehicles (which for their agency means "Interstate Criminal Enforcement"). These are usually traffic units designated to work areas with state troopers (or sometimes without them) doing traffic enforcement. If you didn't see anything other than the word "ICE" (such as a DHS logo, the words "Immigration and Customs Enforcement", etc.), it could be a local/state cop using the acronym "ICE" for a different purpose.

Interesting. If I remember correctly there are many things considered "critical infrastructure" which are not directly owned/operated by the government. I wonder if this means they will now supervise the Wackenhut, etc. guards at these places like they do at the federal buildings?

I guess seeing such an out of the ordinary cruiser at the beach made me think it might have been ICE detaining my wife LOL. Our town police cruisers are white, and a few surrounding towns have black cruisers, and a lot of other towns and cities have already moved to the "classic" black with white doors scheme. So to see a navy blue cruiser with what looked to be yellow stripes seemed weird. I also saw a strange silver unmarked cruiser here today. And I also saw a maroon chevy impala at the beach today with federal plates on it. It had a little yellow light on the top above the driver, and the guy driving it looked like some type of LEO, had the cb on the shoulder etc. He was stopping in front of certain businesses along the strip and writing a lot of stuff down. I have a pic of it but cant post it.

Although nothing is written is stone, most likely the restructuring will occur.
One can debate the good and bad with being associated with ICE, sure Immigration was not our primary mission, But only time will tell the outcome of the NPPD marriage. As to what we drive; well they are marked and unmarked, and thats it. If you have a vendetta or not against your significant other it has no reason to be in a job forum. I am not being a A-hole but this thread started out being questionable to me. :rolleyes:

I don't know what the unmarked car was, but, the navy blue with yellow stripes kind of sounds like the New York State Police to me. Seeing how NH isn't too far away from NY, it isn't too implausible. Especially because Manchester has a major college in it(recruitment). As to the car with the yellow light, taking information at businesses, my first thought on that would be a census taker.
