FBI - Phase I - Applicants selected by D.C. or local field office?

Good Day Everyone,

I recently applied for the FBI SA position. Does anyone know who selects applicants for Phase I testing? Do field offices select applicants within their areas of operation, or are applicants selected by FBI HQ in D.C. and told to take the test at their local office?

From what the applicant coordinator told me, the people chosen to take the Phase 1 test are chosen by the field office applicant coordinator. If you pass that test, then the selections for who goes to Phase 2 is done in D.C.

Thanks for the response. Knowing that, it will be hard to exercise restraint in repeatedly calling the FO about my application.
