No. It has been discussed but the bean counters have crushed that.

FAMS are part of TSA so a change would require TSA to change. An audit was done and if the change was done, the money it would cost would be HUGE. The GS scale structures the system much better for those who do the minimum amount of work. Plus with the mandatory step increases it adds u fast when you add in locality and LEAP.

So why the hiring for just G band? Thought they may have had something in the works. Any reason for them changing the grade to just G and promotion to H and I are not guaranteed?

Well promotion to H and I bands were never guaranteed...but as long as you o your job and keep your nose clean you'll be promoted.

As for only hiring at the G band...the high G band is better than a low H.
