Question for anyone who has undergone the VBT. In the letter I received for notification of the VBT it states that business casual is acceptable for the VBT. In searching through CBP.gov I found something that stated "we can not tell you what to wear to the VBT, but keep in mind you will be video taped and this tape will be reviewed by professional interviewers at a later date". I currently work in an accounting office, so business casual (slacks, button up shirt, dress shoes) is normal for us, but that last statement kind of has me second guessing. Would it be advisable to go with the tie and jacket?

VBT = Video Based Test - They play video scenarios and you are to respond to the situation verbally. Your responses are recorded and reviewed by trained interviewers. It is supposed to gage your mental ability to deal with situations.

Upon further research, I have determined that you are correct and the tie and jacket is the correct attire.

I passed the VBT a few years ago, I wore a shirt and tie.

Well VBT is complete. I can honestly say I have no idea how I did. I feel like my responses were in line, but I felt somewhat clumsy with the testing format. I can say without revealing anything about the VBT that it was probably one of the most awkward interview situations I have participated in.
