Could someone be more specific about the FIT test? Do you only get 60 seconds to complete push-ups and then 60 seconds to do sit-ups with a minute or two of rest in the middle? Then i'm assuming you get a 5-10 minute break and do the 1.5 mile run? Also, how are the push-ups/sit-ups measured? Do they put a fist down and make you hit it with your chest or do they make sure your elbows go to a 90 degree bend? Just trying to train the way i might be tested if i get far enough in the process. Sharp123 - I took the fit test back in January and it was not as intense as I expected, but I think it all depends on the deputy who is giving it to you. He let me choose what order I wanted to do things. I started with pushups where I had to go low enough to touch my chest to a fist, then the situps were with hands clasped behind my head and go up to the knees. I did the run on a treadmill because the weather was pretty bad, but they really like to give the run outside. They let me take as much time as I needed in between, so I took about 5 minutes between each. The deputies were very encouraging. This was just my experience, like I said it could be different in each district.

I wish I had known about this site before. I got through after 2,500 calls to N.C. I wonder if anyone has been notified yet about the May interviews. I'm sure it will be cutting it close. Congrats to all that made it through on the phone lines. There was alot of good canidates on the 23rd in the afternoon meeting in N.C. I have a BA degree and 12 years of L.E. experience in Florida. I'm one of the old guys in the group. But one last shot with the U.S.M.S. is worth it. Good luck to you all.

Does anyone know all the regions? I am trying to find out which one the Boston area falls into.

They just opened up two more areas but theyhave the region maps for 1 they listed and another they did not list as open??

Any help would be appreciated

Not yet but it has to be soon, I would think. I have checked my e-mail more than humanly possable over this week. I checked with a buddy w/ the USMS and he said
"nothing has been sent down yet but stand-by it should be soon".
