    So what did everybody think?

I never posted anything about the session because it was already posted here by the time I got home late yesterday.

I was actually expecting alot more to take place but I guess its the first step and now we wait..............................

I felt a little hurried through the forms. I just hope I checked all the right boxes. My luck, I probably checked "yes" on something like the Lautenberg form....lol

They hurried us a bit too with the forms.
I am glad everything went well. Where did you guys have your sessions?

I couldn't stay to complete mine after our session, so I got mine done at my USMS local district office and FedEx them yesterday.

Yeah my session on Tuesday night lasted 4 hours, but I was able to get everything turned in that night.

Lexis: I had my done before I left as I don't have a sheriff's office or USMS local district office near me. Good to hear you got that squared away.

Cyber: I kinda wish I had got in an afternoon session because the amount of time we had to complete everything was limited with the afternoon session planned after us. But I was really pumped up after all the videos; can't wait for the next steps :-)

Mine was at 6PM on Tuesday night in DC I didn't get out of there until after 10 PM. Yes I am pumped also, now we all have to wait and see if we get interviews.

Of course the only thing I kept thinking about after the academy videos was, I need to hit the road and the gym harder.

I had my session in D.C Mon at 1300 and they took their time making sure everything was squared away before we left. They did fingerprints for everyone and then sat down and went through all paper work one on one! They even asked if anyone had flights out that evening and had us come to the front! I really liked the fact that they were being truthful in every aspect.

I have been hitting the gym extra hard the past few days. If I get all the way to the P.T test I don’t want to be dropped for something stupid like not making time on my run.

We were told best case scenario that entire process would take 12months? I thought they were really trying to push people through? Any hear anything else.

    5.7toyo,

There are a whole bunch of people under FCIP who have been waiting 12 months plus.....
It's up to D.C. and the FLETC dates to determine how many people will be getting "pushed through"! Trust me I was thinking the same, when I went to the FCIP session in 2007. Your session seemed a bit more organized.

We were told that if you applied through the FCIP program that you are on the eligibilty list for 2 years. Is that two years from when you submit your packet or from when you pass your medical and BI and are just waiting for "The Call"

Second question or summation would be that if it takes the '09 FCIP applicants 12 months to go through the process we would not be competing with the 07' FCIP applicants for a slot to FLETC because their list would have expired by then.

Chemo - If I'm not mistaken, the '09ers stay on the list 2 years from the date we get a Tentative Offer. And I thought I heard someone say that the '07 applicants are for other regions, not Region 2. Hopefully that’s the case, then it would only be the Co-op guys and us on the list.

It seemed like there were a lot of well qualified applicants at my session (mostly current LEOs, mostly had Bachelors degrees, quite a few with Masters). How did you guys feel the talent pool was at your sessions? Definitely going to be competitive...

Okay this makes more sense than just being put on a "list" for 2 years. I would imagine the USMS will lose a ton of people being the wait is pretty long. They did say that quite a few people are needed in D.C so maybe this hiring will be a bit faster?

I actually felt a little discourged at my session with all the current LEO's there. I am coming in with only a 2 year degree and 10 years military police. But you never know until you try so I figured what the hell?

Just to put things in perspective. Two years isn't all that long with the USMS. I know people who were waiting 4-5 years from the time when they tested in '01 until hire.
