With all due respect... that would drive you crazy! Take each step as it comes and prepare for it. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for a new hire just the right time! Good luck with the process!

Any Marshals out there?

Hey Everyone,

I heard some people for region 8 have been invited to the interview process. I understand if you do not get an email about the interview, you will most likely will receive a letter in the mail stating, thanks but no thanks. My question is, what if you dont receive neither, does that mean you are still in the running?

Please let me know,

Much appreciated,

Steve

I would say no news is good news right now. If you don't hear anything and it is close to interview time for the region then I would say you might be out.

For me, I found out they had sent my email to the wrong email address. Luckily, I found out before the deadline and was sent the email for the interview. I suppose you could contact the recruiter if you are worried but I would just hang in there.

showing some progress

I would say that if you haven't heard anything then maybe you should contact the recruiter and see what may be going on especially with it being so close to the interview time. I'd be making some calls to find out what's going on.

Things are progressing. Yesterday I got a call from the USMS advising me that I have 48 hours to go and take the drug test... Time to fill the cup! I hope this is a good sign that its close to wheels up!

Fit tests expire after 6 months.

I doubt, if you are working out regularly, that a week or 2 off going to make any significant difference in yoru fit score.... well, unless you were THAT close to failing before the little mini-hiatus.

People should take from this one good point, tough: Be ready at any time. Usually, you have a little more notice and it is rare that you will get only a day or 2, but it happens. A guy in my academy class was a last minute addition. He took the fit test on Thur, offered the job on Fri and started the acadmey on Mon. That is not the norm, though.

Switchback,
With that being said is it possible for an upcoming academy date? Just wondering. Though I'm ready whenever the call comes to take the test a few days notice is short but I would be ready.

I have heard grumbling of a November class, but the HR thing is hardly my forte, so don't hold me to it.

Being in a CR can really muddy the water. While there was funding for academy classes last fiscal year (meaning they can conduct them this year), there is still some level of apprehension without a budget beign signed. I would fully expect a class pretty soon, though. They are really in a position where they will HAVE to start classes soon, just to get the number of new hires in the budget brought on board.

USMS Academy Dates

Our FY-2010 training plan has been published. There are 13 classes scheduled between now and next September. One beginning each month, two beginning in April and July.

The November class begins next week. We have an applicant in our office who was recovering from an injury that has been selected to attend this class.
