yes, it was quick and to the point!
yes, it was quick and to the point!
I am in for a Raleigh session (after 4,000 calls), and I have not yet received an email either. I have 6 years local law, and a Master's degree. Since I have only worked for one law enforcement agency, I only put it on my resume because it seems to be my only "relevant" experience.
Hi Chemo!
Morning session reporting @ 10am. Yes, lets get working on those resumes.
Hi Swatstar welcome and I am glad you made after 4, 000 calls!!
Be sure to read Chemo's update on the e-mails and OF612 / RESUME.
Good luck!
700 applicants for Raleigh, or 700 in total for the entire region?
How's it going guys? Add me to the list for Knoxville. I'll be coming from GA.
Just a little info I've been able to gather from the recruiter here is that there were a "little less" than 500 seats open for the information sessions for the entire region and the ratio they usually go by is 10:1, so they are looking to hire around 50 people. From what he said there didn’t seem to be any ranking system for applicants outside of a not qualified - qualified - very qualified rating given to you by your interviewers *if you are found qualified enough to get an interview based on your resume or OF-612.* I'm sure we will find out more at the info session, but I thought I would share what info I had.
(Keep in mind that the recruiter I've been speaking with isn’t in the hiring region so the info could be off)
*edit: the recruiter I scheduled with in Knoxville said to bring AT LEAST the OF-612 and resume if I wanted. it sounds like that varies by the office you're going to for the info session. He also said to bring my driving record if possible to help speed up the BI.

What do you guys think appropriate attire for the session would be? I am not sure if this is considered more of a formal interview, ie. suit or if a shirt and tie would be more the case.
swatstar10, I'm going to go in a suit; first impressions and all.
I figure that the interview process started when we first spoke with the recruiter to register for our info session. So anytime I interact face to face it will be in a suit unless I'm specifically told something else, like business casual or PT's.
I also feel the things they will watch for is a professional look and whether we can follow instructions.
That's just my opinion though and you know what that say about opinions right?
Hey everyone!
I stumbled on this site doing research on the hiring process. I will be attending the D.C session on the 23rd @1300. I had to jump through hoops and utilize all connections to get all required information being I have been all over the world in the past 10 years, Lol!
I am pretty nervous about this as I have no civilian law enforcement experience and a few classes shy of my degree. However, I have been in the military for 10 years now. 7 years active duty and 3 as a reservist all military police. Active secret clearance, held for 9 years now. I figured what do I have to lose? A few hundred dollars, LOL!
When speaking with the recruiter on the phone from D.C it sounded like he was verifying that I was eligible and gave me a list of things to bring. Driving abstract, transcripts, DD214, any certifications, resume or (OF) 612, and 2 forms of I.D. I have read on another site that if you’re missing anything don’t bother to show up? Is this true? I was able to get everything but sounds like they don’t want to be playing any games.
I was told business attire so suit for me too.
Good luck everyone and hope to see you all one day!

Hey guys
I hope all of you guys are doing well. Sorry earlier mac and chemo had to get the kids from school. Anyway everybody ready. I see everyone is nervous just like me so I am going to try to do a pep talk to see if we cant shake the nervous bugs. I know all of us have been racking our brain of what are we to bring or wear or etc. I think we should bring everything OF612 if not make sure you have the resume looking like your the baddest mutha f on the planet and they have to hire you looking at that resume. Putting everything on it the two forms of ID and if LE bring your certifcate in college bring you grades and things you have done while in school if miltary bring your certificate and bring your personality if we all go in like robots they are not getting the real you. Show them you mean business. Im nervous as hell there is no doubt I will not sleep the night before the info session. But if I have everything in order get a folder guys with stuff in order and not crumble up lamenate the paper if you have to so it can look neat. I know you guys trying to figure out what to wear but if you dont give them old faithful the suit you have for funerals and family photos then they wont know if you can look clean or not. Make sure your facial is clean not shave but look like your going on your first date. Look them in the eyes too so they know you mean business. All of us called like its was a million dollars on the line, and though sweat and tears we got the other line to answer. So there is no way we can lose. LEXIS, SWATSTAR10,MACTEAM,RLC427,CHEMO,5.7TOYO. Get ready you about to go where people only wish they could touch. We made it I cant wait to see you guys in the academy and graduate and laugh of how all of us where on the internet trying to figure out whats best. LOL excuse the writing and the pep talk I need some pep myself. Well hope to continue talking to you all. So tuck in those guts get those weights, put on those running shoes, get in that push up position, be ready for sit ups, and have your last piece of a@@. We are about to become USM. Knox here I come( like the old guy in Senifeld told him) ITS GO TIME. Good luck you future USM
No one got through to D.C?
