Has anyone heard when New England Region will open up hiring?
I'm at FLETC now for the Marshals and they told us they plan to have 10 classes go through next year and they each have 48 students. The next class is August 20th this year.
For those of you who are getting close - start doing pushups now. No joke. As for the fit test, make sure you're not just barely passing. Passing the fit means nothing to them. If you're not above and beyond it, you'll be at the bottom of the group.
That's a lot of Marshals. Anyone have any info as to whether they plan on opening up hiring again anytime soon, or are they done for the next couple of years?
Right now, the hiring is being done waves by region. You just need to watch the web site to see what region is opening up and when. The way it has been done with this new initiative is 2 days of calling in and then a certain number of qualified candidates are interviewd and proceed from there.
Who know, with the large numbers prjected to be hired, the process may change.

I just recieved the conditional via e-mail. We should see some activity starting today. Good luck, everybody.
Congratulations to those that are receiving CO's, and I'm sorry for those of you receiving the "thin letter." Out of the people that have received CO's, or about not passing the writing sample, did any interview in DC? It appears that most people posting information took and passed their interviews in NC, but maybe that is just a coincidence.
Congrats to LESniper. Has anyone else heard back besides the sniper. Just wondering? Good to hear that at least one has heard the news. Hopefully many will follow. Good luck to you all in the waiting game.
Thanks everybody I'm looking foward to hearing back after the holiday weekend. For what its worth I went on the first day of interviews so Im sure more are coming. Lexis, we have to set up a medical via phone. The fit test will be after that and they wait for medical to clear you. There is a background packet coming too if you dont have a suitable clearance allready. It spells it out very clearly in the letter. I am still in limbo as to when I should advise my Chief, any suggestions? We have a good relationship but I want to tell him before anyone else does, (out of respect). But for all you cops out there "I dont want to black list myself to early or for no reason".. My department tends to be overly sensitive these days, to people leaving. Any suggestions would help.. And again, Thanks for the congrats and good luck to everybody.
Hey man could be a while so until you get that call that you are hired and have an academy date I wouldn't make any changes. It took 2 years from when i got my conditional from the USMS to when I got an academy date. I was hired under shining star though so things are different. I am just saying don't do it quite yet. And good luck to you in the rest of the process.![]()
Yeah I figured it would be awhile and I know I don't have it yet. I understood the background would start this month and I didn't want them to contact the department without me bringing him up to speed. Will they notify me prior to contact with my department? I hear they are hiring alot of people so I can't imagine they are going to tip toe around anyone specific. Either way I will wait thanks, at least till after the I-Qip or background questionair, you think that would be the right time?

It is generally accepted that most BIs begin with an interview of the candidate. So, you should be notified prior to them reaching out for your current employer.
