    Questions about fitness test for US Marshals Service

    The fitness standards are listed on the USMS website, but I had a couple of questions for current Marshals:

    1 - Are the push-ups and sit-ups timed? If so, is it one minute?

    2 - What is a "sit and reach"?

    3 - Is the test scored, or is it pass/fail?

    Yes. Proper form is also expected.

    Our web site states: "You must score Minimum or higher in all sections of the fitness test in order to pass."

    This being said, during pre-employment, your scores are recorded and submitted to headquarters. Not just whether you passed or failed. As a goal, each applicant should be able to meet or exceed, at a minimum, the excellent fitness standard. Achieving less will give you unwanted attention.
