    NCIS 2009 FLETC Classes

Just starting a new thread for 09 classes. My question is what exactly is the curriculum for NCIS SABT/CITP. Is their a Physical component, is it mostly class room based study. I have done BP Academy back in the day and just trying to see how it compares so I can get in shape for any PT.

Any news on when the next class will be or how many left for FY 09?

There's a class starting Monday, and I think there are 2 more (last one in July, I think). Budget cuts have been made to classes that were planned to follow these.

As for the other questions, see here: http://forums.realpolice.net/showthread.php?t=82267

Thanks for answering - i was afraid of the budget cuts coming. I just did my panel interview last week so i know i just started the process and i'll be turning 37 in 11 months. I know it's pretty unlikely i will get in to a July class. So hopefully there will be classes early January 10'.

Thanks for the link but i still couldn't find any information on the PT for the academy?

    lama73,
I can say from the experience of attending both academies that the citp/add-on PT does not even come close to that of the BP. If/when you get the call, you will have no problem making it through.
There was not even a PT requirement when I went through the add-on but I believe they have changed that recently. The citp PT was pretty much a joke as well compared to the BP. The only requirement was to participate. Good luck

While the CITP PT was pretty standard (it really depends on your PT instructor), we did have students who got written up on multiple occasions (I think their SAC is also notified when this happens) for not "keeping" up during runs. The PT's definition of keeping up is running with the pack (and obviously not walking).

You NCIS guys are lucky in that you get to drive the FUN vehicles. You'll see what I mean when you get there.....

Not during our add-on. We drive the Humvee during advanced training when prepping for deployments. If anyone gets to do "fun" driving during their add-on it's ICE, who get to do PIT maneuvers. I was jealous to hear our former CITP classmates in ICE SAT coming back from the driving track after PIT. :(

    NCIS Board Interview

New here found this site searching info about NCIS. Let me give you a little background.

    NCIS - Tested 10/2006
    NCIS - Prescreening Interview 06/2007
    NCIS - Board Interview 04/2009

I just did the board interview this month. It seemed informal but formal. It seemed to go very well. But, you never know. They did finger print and take 3 pictures of me. Being finger printed and taking 3 pictures of me is this a good sign that I well move on to the background investigation? Does anybody know. I have waited so long like many of you. Does anybody know how many classes are going to be held this year?

Also I have taken and pass the FBI's phase I testing and an alternate candidate for phase II testing. Taking the BP test this month 4/21.

Typically, yes, getting your prints done after the screening board is a good indicator that you did well. Whether you continue on to the BI is a decision by HQ, which could be driven by what skill sets they are recruiting at that moment. Eitherway, it's definitely not bad news.

I believe there are 2 more classes for this FY. Money is starting to get tight, unfortunately.

Yes...lama73, the curriculum consist of class work, practical application and PT. While you're in CITP your PT Instructor will determine what to pay emphasis to, asides from the required activities such as Officer Response Tactics (ORT)...mine was a fighter; so we never ran. Once you get into SABT chances are you'll be doing CROSS FIT twice a fit with your class. I'm sure you won't a problem being former BP. Good luck!

NCIS, and pretty much every agency out there, will have employment information listed on their official website. As it states on their official website, NCIS is not currently hiring for agent positions: Join NCIS

    NCIS Movement...

I just got a call this week from the person i interviewed with back in april that my BI is almost complete. They had me go in to do a urine sample yesterday at a local clinic here and are setting me up for a physical at the nearest military base. Now what? Rumor has it all classes have been cancelled for this fiscal year. Anyone know what the next step could be?
