Yeah, I think it is about the same disability annuity, less any social security benefits.
FYI, the reason the pension is lower for feds is because we also have an equivalent of a 401k, called TSP. Considering the years of service that I will have when I retire, the sum of my pension and TSP will likely result in me making more money retired than I do when working. I don't know many locals that will say that. The only thing is, you MUST put into the TSP or things may be tight when you retire from federal service.
