Who does this guy work for?

Not a big fan here of plastering one's face and info online if you're a LEO, but this guy's blog has a picture of him in a uniform that doesn't seem to match his badge. Hoping those with ICE and CBP might have some insight to fix my curiosity.

He is not a CBPO. If ya look at some of the other pictures on the blog he has the DRO patch on the other shoulder. I would say he is an Immigration Enforcement Agent or IEA for short.

I'm guessing he's an immigration enforcement agent (IEA) for ICE DRO (Detention and Removal Office) but I thought the IEA badge said "agent" and not "officer". We used to joke back when the IEA position was created that they were GS9 "agents" while the GS12 deportation officer badges said "officer" - it seemed kind of backwards to us. I believe that's an IEA uniform he's wearing - most of the ones around here wear 5.11s and polo shirts instead of their uniforms but from the ones I've seen it looks a lot like the CBPO uniform except for the patch.

ICE badge with OFFICER wording = IEA or DO.

ICE badge with POLICE wording = Federal Protective Service.

ICE Badge with SPECIAL AGENT wording = OI.

ICE badge (steel) with AGENT wording is fake. However, the cloth or silkscreen version is either IEA or SA.

Picture at FLETC chapel on Graduation Day, but most of you knew that already. Some of the other pictures on the blog have the Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) patch visible. IEA and CBP uniformas are identical with the obvious lettering changes and CBP using two of the tombstone patches vs our one.

I agree that I think he's a IEA but that's the first I've seen of an IEA in a CBPO type uniform. Last time I was at FLETC all the IEA's were in 5.11's & a polo

FLETC uniform for IEAs is tan 511s and purple or blue polo.

IEA service uniform is what is in the picture. You get to wear it Graduation Day.

Your work uniform will vary by location. PHI agents wore the service uniform when I was detailed to York, PA. York agents wore either the service uniform or the tan with blue or black polo. My office requires use of blue BDUs for all IEAs as quickly as they can be obtained from VFSolutions.

I only see DOs wear tan with the blue or black polo or business casual. I have never seen one in a service uniform.

I don't get it either. But, I did hear that they had a lot of trouble getting enough guys in the DEA Detroit office to agree to be on the Spike show, to even do it.

When I heard they were doing it, I called a friend of mine up there and asked if he was going to be on it. His reply was, "I'm not nearly that stupid." :D

I am sitting here at ICE now. Based upon the uniform he is a DRO. Plus, with a little photo and software, his badge number refelcts he officially a Immigration Enforcement Agent and his current assignment is Detention & Removal Operations.


But more importantly, Jessica is hot! :D He can have his badge and uniform. I will take her any day!
