CBP Officer, Hiring?

Does anyone know if the Gov't is hiring for CBP Officer? I've searched USA jobs and can only find BPA Agent.

I am all for CBP... I just think that they should have more pride in themselves and shoot for a better job.

No, I'm a CBP Officer, not a Border Patrol Agent... I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night though so I'll try!

I heard the Border patrol academy was really tough; I just wanted to know what it was like. And to describe the hardest day you had so I can gauge it against my own physical fitness. I am in pretty good shape but I wanted to see what I should prepare for.

The BP academy of today is not what it used to be. It's a much watered down version. It's all about numbers now. Some of us remember what it used to be like. It's actually quite alarming some of what Artesia is putting out now.

If you are in decent shape & can run 3 - 4 miles without stopping and meet the run times you should be OK

Yeah I heard they got rid of the pass/fail final spanish test and the 6month (or was it a year?) spanish exam. Lots of agencies seem to have sacrificed standards for numbers over the years.

It seems ours is going the other way and getting harder... I guess when it was as easy as it was for legacy Inspectors you can only get harder but still, it leaves hope for the future of CBP! :D
