    Job postings on USAJobs.gov

I've been looking at the postings on USAJobs.gov for 1811 positions, and all except the FBI have a cut-off date of late December '08 or early January '09. After these cut-off dates, are new postings listed, or is hiring finished until all those who applied under the current posting have been processed? And if the latter, how long does it typically take for agencies to exhaust their current supplies of applicants and list a new job posting?

    Thanks.

Each agency is different, with different hiring needs. That's why it's a good idea to check USAJobs.gov often, as some agencies post vacancy announcements once or a few times a year, while others have them up and down all year long.

No clue. I'm an 1811 with the Gov't, but I can't even speak for the HR practices of my own agency, much less government-wide. They do their job, I do mine.
