    SF-86 Help

Any of you guys know a link to a SF-86 that will allow you to save the data you enter in it? I have to fill one out and the form I have (and the forms I have downloaded off of opm.gov and other federal sites) does not allow you to save your work - you have to type, print, repeat etc.....very frustrating.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I have a Microsoft Word file of it that can be saved, if you want to PM your E-mail I could send it to you.

By the way mine reads "revised 1995" so it may not be the same one you have.

I sent you a PM, but I think it has to be the "new" SF86 format; due to the wording in the letter telling me to fill it out. I appreciate it though.

I have taken a liking to Accessible FormNet, which you can download from GSA. http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/con...Type=GSA_BASIC

Then you just hop over to http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/for...do?formType=SF and scroll down to the SF86, and if you need it, the SF86 continuation. Both of them seem to be the new 07/2008 revision. Click on the link, and download the .xpw file that works with FormNet.

It's great. You can save, edit, etc. Sometimes it's finnicky about not having enough space in a field for you to type in long words (street names, etc.), but you can usually get around it by playing with the font size, type, etc.

Try CutePDF Form Filler if FormNet doesn't work for you - They have a free trial version:
    http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/Filler.asp

I tried it on the SF86C.pdf form I downloaded, and it seems to work, but I didn't test it extensively. The price for the non-trial version is $30, but there may be other free programs that do something similar.

Just download the PDF to a disk file, open the PDF inside CutePDF, fill out the form, and click the 'save As" button that appears at the right top of the form (not in the File menu), and browse to where you want to save the filled out form.

What agency are you applying for? Most of them have you fill it out online after you log into a website. There are a few holdovers still using the print out version but not very often.

    +1

I recently did my 10 year re-eval and my saved copy didn't help at all. well except to have the data right there to transfer over to the website SF-86.
